Leberkäse ( LAY-ber KAY-zeh )

Literally translated «liver-cheese» but containing neither liver nor cheese; leberkäse is a finely ground Bavarian-style sausage which is baked in a loaf pan rather than placed in a casing. We grill a thick slice of this pork and beef sausage and serve it with potato salad.
